First post on accessibility

Andrew

Accessibility can mean a lot of things. This blog will focus primarily on digital, web, and IT accessibility. In this blog I will refer to these interchangeably as “digital accessibility“.

Defining Digital Accessibility

Digital accessibility ensures people with disabilities have an equivalent experience in digital products and services. Web standards have improved vastly and the HTML5 specification already has robust and native support accessibility!

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) develops the web standards. You will see me refer to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) which is the main accessibility standard for web and digital content.
